I used to play this :
So I wasn’t looking for a faithful adaptation when I went to see this :
And hey, guess what ? He runs around and grabs things and walks on the walls and stuff. Spikes notwithstanding, that’s pretty much all I remember from the game, so I’m good. You may have guessed by now my gaming years are long gone 😀
Don’t get me wrong, the movie is not a masterpiece at all, it’s average. But it’s huge fun when you study to be a ninja (the third step is the hardest !), and has loads of eye-candy (I’m totally talking about Ben Kingsley here, y’know, like, yeah, totally, *whistles*).
I still can’t believe I didn’t recognize Jeff Bridges in the first Iron Man. And I had seen it before. Unforgiveable ! Maybe it was the hair (or lack thereof).
Well, I should go and listen to my Creedence tapes to forget. And pay my tribute. Let’s hope the Dude still abides.
Is this turning into a movies blog ? Who knows ?
How can you possibly resist this ???
Well of course I didn’t ! So I rushed to the nearest theatre as soon as I could (meaning one day after it got released). I thought I would enjoy it, despite Scarlett Johansson :D, but not love it the way I did. Hey, sometimes life has its good surprises !
12 episodes ? I should really start paying attention again, I was all suprised Ryuusei no Gemini would end so soon ! Small price to pay for a good ending though. Yes, I liked it, more on that later. Well, I guess I’ll have to wrap up my thoughts before I get back to work ! A wonderful snapshot of my darling Misaki in the meantime.
This has led me to acknowledge an extraordinary ability :
I can make people want to read shoujo.
Regular people, who don’t even read manga at all sometimes.
Mind you, I say want to read, I don’t know if they follow up to that. But who cares ? Still an awesome superpower in my opinion.
I hadn’t done it in a while, but, urged by the Great Master of Propaganda (— err, you know who you are and I wouldn’t want to get kicked out), I commited a new crime and treated everyone in sight with my views on Sawako (French title of Kimi ni todoke). I’m currently watching the anime and discovered we’ve already got 5 volumes translated here (where have I been, seriously, I’m ashamed of myself). It’s in French so I’m not publishing it here, so I’ll just link it for the lucky bilinguals who come by. It’s here, along with the other posts I’ve written for this forum.
As for Kimi ni todoke – the anime, let’s just say I enjoy it and I might write a review when the anime’s over, but I’m not inspired enough to write regular posts about this show.
Note : I’m stopping episodic posts but I’ll still talk about this show.
